The "raison d'être"
The Préhistomuseum exists to enable everyone to experience our humanity through an original and unconventional encounter with Prehistory and archaeology.
Dear visitor,
As you discover the Préhistomuseum, we want you to awaken the primitive being that lies within you, because we are, all of us, homo sapiens!
What are we trying to do here?
Take you somewhere different, on a journey through time.
The Préhistomuseum and its cave are sited in a Natura 2000 reserve on the banks of the River Meuse in Liège, in the Walloon region.
The Préhistomuseum, formerly the Ramioul Préhistosite, is an educational tourism centre focusing on Prehistoric times, located on the doorstep of the Belgian Ardenne.
The nearest town is Liège-Flémalle. The cave and the many activities scattered across the 30-hectare site will delight children, adults and nature-lovers alike.
