The plants growing in the cultivated plots are typical of the first plants grown by our ancestors.  And in the paddocks you will encounter real, live animals: very old breeds, close to those first domesticated in Prehistoric times, including goats, sheep, pigs, etc. Present in only small numbers here, they nevertheless remind us vividly, by their appearance and their behaviour, of the animals that once made up the herds of the first Prehistoric farmers.

Learning about the lives of the first farmers to inhabit our region, some 5,300 years ago, means learning about a way of life in which a multitude of activities co-existed: cutting clearings in the forest, building shelters, working the fields, herding the animals, bringing in the harvests, etc.
